Samples for Judging

Once a business has entered the Awards, they will receive notification of the weight of judging samples required – usually no more than 500 grams or 4 packs.

Submitting your Products

The World Charcuterie Awards are open to producers from all over the world as well as producers and importers based in the UK.

All entrants into the Awards will receive downloadable product labels for judging identification purposes. Remember all products are judged blind, so the product labels must be attached to the samples and/or used on the pack.

You will also be sent the details of where and when to send your products.

Delivery within the UK

The World Charcuterie Awards are delighted to be working with Woolcool who pioneered sustainable insulated packaging.

In order to cut down on packaging wastage, they will supply all UK-based producers with temperature-controlled package for their judging samples.

Shipping from Abroad

For producers shipping their judging samples into the UK, we have appointed a shipping agency and are in advisory conversation with both DEFRA and the Animal and Plant Health Agency to ensure a smooth passage and at minimal costs.

We will update you as and when with details and costs.

Marking the Products

Judges will work in teams of a minimum of three.

Products will be marked out of 100 points according to the unique scoring system developed originally by the British Charcuterie Live Awards and updated by the World Charcuterie Awards Advisory Board.

Gold for products scoring 90-100 points
Silver for products scoring 80-89 points
Bronze for products scoring 70-79 points

Winning a Medal

Every producer scoring 70 points+ wins a medal and will be emailed a certificate featuring the appropriate medal once the Award results are announced

The medal can be used on the producer and/or importer’s websites and in social media, press releases and point-of-sale display. Stickers will be available to buy for adding to the product and a licence can be bought for printing the medal on-pack.
