World Charcuterie Awards Terms & Conditions of Entry

  • Entrants must be a Professional Producer or an Importer, Retailer, Wholesaler, or Distributor of professionally made Charcuterie. Employees of the Organiser, their families, agents, or anyone professionally connected with the Awards are not eligible to enter.
  • Entries must be submitted online at WorldCharcuterieAwards.com. All entries must be paid for in full and entry profiles completed by the date specified on Essential Information for Entering the Awards.
  • The cost per Charcuterie product to enter is GBP 50.00 (early bird entry – valid until Sunday 18 June 2023 3) and GBP 60.00 thereafter.
  • Entrants must send enough Charcuterie to provide sufficient samples for judging –Samples must not weigh more than 2 kilos per product in order to comply with the import derogation. 400 grams/two packs/10-12 slices is probably sufficient, bearing in mind that each product will be judged by a minimum of three up to eight judges for medal contender products. 3
  • Entrants may submit more than one entry.
  • Entrants are responsible for all delivery costs and any duty and/or VAT levied. 3
  • All products must be accompanied with the required paperwork. Producers must ensure that the necessary paperwork and forms are correctly filled in The World Charcuterie Awards Ltd cannot accept any responsibility for the failure on the part of the producer to do so. 3
  • All products must be fit for human consumption through the time period of the Awards Judging Event.
  • All cooking of products (e.g. bacon) will be done in accordance with the Organiser’s directions.
  • Entries will become the property of the Organiser and will not be returned. Any products not used during judging will be destroyed or if possible, donated to charity.
  • Entrants consent to the publication by the Organiser of any of the documents or materials constituting their entry.
  • If entrants wish to withdraw their products from the World Charcuterie Awards, they must notify the Organisers within 28 days of entering. Refunds will be granted at the discretion of the Organisers on a case-by-case basis. In the event of a refund, we reserve the right to deduct any transaction fees (e.g. Stripe Handling Fee) associated with the corresponding payment.
  • Judging, based on the criteria set out on our website, will take place at the Awards Judging Event to be held at The Billingsgate Kitchen, Billingsgate Market, London on 23rd to 25th August 2023. 3 Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals will be awarded as the judges deem appropriate and overall winners will be selected from the Gold award winners as the World Champion Product and World Champion Producer.
  • The Organiser reserves the right to change the judging panel without prior notice to entrants.
  • The Organiser reserves the right to change the judging venue without prior notice to the entrants.
  • All Producers/Importers etc who win Gold, Silver, or Bronze will receive a certificate after the winners are announced. Any further certificates can be purchased from World Charcuterie Awards Ltd post-event.
  • All Producers/Importers etc who win Gold. Silver or Bronze will be entitled to purchase medal stickers for use on the pack.
  • The Organiser licenses any winner to use the relevant medal sticker in connection with its Awards on their website, leaflets, newsletters & social media and will provide the necessary artwork.
  • A licence must be applied for from World Charcuterie Awards Ltd when incorporating a medal in a pack design. The medal itself must not be altered but can be resized; as long as it can be clearly read and recognised.
  • Winners may be required to take part in some post-event publicity and consent to their name and photographs being used for such purposes.
  • The Organiser reserves the right to change the judging panel without prior notice to entrants.
  • The Organiser’s decision on all matters affecting this competition is final and legally binding.
  • No correspondence will be entered into.
  • By entering the Competition, all entrants will be deemed to have accepted and be bound by the rules and consent to the transfer of their personal data to the Data Controller for the purposes of the administration of the Competition and any other purposes for which the entrant has consented. All entry instructions form part of the rules.
